Adam Gerber: Selected Works

P004 → Savant

Residential

The following images are fully CG shots that were used all over the Savant website for marketing purposes, generally showing a product or (alongside a product). They were produced using various Megascans assets and specific automotive models that were sourced from third parties. Some of the not so obvious challenges were to make sure that all of the EV’s had charging ports (some were not antotomically correct, so we had to do surgery in some cases) . Some shots required several variants for the vehicles and it made sense to create a tool that helped the process of placing charging cables and simulating collisions. I was able to do this by leveraging Houdini’s vellum solver set up in such a way where any movement of the vehicle placement would trigger a new simulation that could be either left as is or further refined by brushing the cable into place. Also worth noting that some of the foliage was made in house with Houdini tools as well, in particular the background conifer trees in the garage shot (mostly visible in the breakdown) .

Layout Breakdown

Breaker Panel Animation

This piece is meant to serve as an supplementary visualization for housing developers that want to integrate Savant’s technology into their projects. It is also used as an animated background visual on savant.com At the time of creation, I was working in collaboration with another 3d Artist and we shared the responsiblily of asset creation, animation and look development across the board.

Breaker Panel Animatic:

Because making a photorealistic animation  can sometimes take  many iterations to get correct, we decided to present motion tests like this to client before shaded renderings .

Pro Remote Motion Spot
:
This piece was made in support of the latest iteration in Savant’s “Pro Remote” product line. They asked us to make something that would fit in with apple’s ad campaigns and we took it from there.
